Also, the healing side of this idol appears to be bugged and not contributing anything.THE NEW DIGITAL STORYTELLING Creating Narratives with New Media Bryan AlexanderĬopyright 2011 by Bryan Alexander All rights reserved. Affliction for life, screw shadowmages.Įdit: I'm happy to say that the issue of tank group stacking is pretty much moot in 3.0. One thing in ToL's favor is that most warlocks seem to be running demonic sacrifice and demanding to be in the boomkin/elemental shamans group. If you have 1 tank main tank for a long encounter with trivial adds, by all means stack it 1)Tank, 2)Paly for Devo, 3)Shaman for GoA, 4) Warlock for Imp Buff, 5) Druid for ToL. Improved Devotion, Shaman Grace of Air totem and sometimes even Warlock Imp Bloop Pact (+70 stam, +91 talented) can be superior buffs. Don't INSIST on being put in the tank group even if you have this idol. So: Skip this idol if you aren't going to be in the tank group. Preventing even 2% (average number for improved devotion aura) of a swings damage might save the tank from burst death. This really can't be beat because landing a heal for 200 more healing won't save the tank if he's already dead. Even if this makes it so your tank will be healed for more EXTRA healing that WON'T be lost to overhealing, the Devotion Aura prevents tank damage. So for numbers sake, having a druid with this idol equipped is equivalent to adding 176 spirit to the Tree of Life Aura. There was discussion of some armor set bonus that increased devotion aura armor and tipped the scales in the paladins favor even more, but I can't find what that buff is. This is a very short list with Hydross the Unstable at the top. The exceptions are for bosses that inflict over 25% damage that is not reduced by armor (bleeds and magic damage). The choice between having a Paladin in the tank group for Devotion Aura and a Druid for ToL is won by the Paladin every time. I believe the numbers were for a druid stacking 900 spirit, ToL still falls short of Improved Devotion Aura (+40% devotion aura armor).

Elitist Jerks math has proven several different ways that Devotion Aura is almost always superior. Go farm Shadow Labyrinth.Ĭomment by 124694One more post to point out that, as a buff even for a tank group, Druid Tree of Life Aura isn't that great. Taking 7 seconds to dole out the extra healing lets spam heals on one target catch up all too easily.Įdit 4: The downside of IotRG? Costs 5000g, as others have noted. The stacking HoT nature of Lifebloom ends up counting against it in the comparison against IotRG. High mobility fights seem to favor a different idol.Įdit 2: Altered LB coefficient to take Empowered Rejuvenation into account.Įdit 3: Some reasoning.

So if you're a druid in ToL form, in the Main tanks group, and there are 2 or more healers healing that tank for a majority of the fight, this idol is better.Įdit: The druid must stay in tree form for the IotRG to have any effect at all. 2 Paladins casting FoL land 1.33 casts per second.

There only needs to be 1.24 healing spells cast per second (or 1 healing spell landing every 0.8 seconds) on the main tank for IotRG to pass IotEQ. If we assume every heal cast on the main tank has an abysmal coefficient of 0.43 (FoL, FH, LWH), this becomesĤ4*0.43*hsps (healing spells per second = 18.92*hspsĪnd in order for IotRG to surpass the IotEQ, this must be a greater Hps boost to the main tank. Healing per second gained from IotRG = 44*C*# of healing spells cast on the target per second. Where C is the coefficient of the healing spell cast Interesting to note, however, is that the druid does not actually have to be healing the main tank, just be placed in the main tanks group and stand 45 yards or fewer away from the main tank for the IotRG to shine.

This is impossible if the druid is not in a group with targets that will be healed very frequently. In order for the Idol of the Raven Goddess to pass this, it has to increase healing received per second by the druids heal target by 19.6. The math that follows assumes the spell power coefficient of the Lifebloom HoT is 0.52, 0.62 talented, as reported The power of the IotEQ is that it's bonus of 88 healing to Lifebloom is tripled by the stacking nature of lifebloom. Looking at this idol from a healing perspective to evaluate it's worth in a raid, the obvious comparison point is the Idol of the Emerald Queen, the uncontested best druid healing item.
